Keramikos, a series of modular crystallised ceramics dry vases, looked at what is the new artefact and how designers look to archives to design.

Ceramics are a medium for material exploration; deconstructing the materiality, the aesthetic form, history, modern transformation and our relationship to objects.

Borax crystallisation and recycled ceramics were used to create new ceramic objects that are bound in water rather than through a firing process.

3D scanning and conservation practice were researched and applied in order to analyse design life spans/ obsolescence, material and product impact.

Conserve Magazine looks at conservation practices, traditional and new, as a medium for the preservation of history and culture but also as a tool for designers to re-imagine, “steal from” and design.
